چکیده
Urinary tract infection (UTI) during pregnancy is often correlated with complications. As the main objective of this study, we investigated prevalence antimicrobial susceptibility, resistance genes, virulence genes and its relationship different phylogenetic groups among Uropathogenic E. coli strains isolated from pregnant women asymptomatic bacteriuria who referred to Hafez hospital, Shiraz, Iran. Our results revealed that 300 urine samples, 105 (35%) were positive for coli. The data demonstrated highest lowest rates observed against nalidixic acid (82.1%), imipenem (2.8%), respectively. frequency ESBLs AmpC-?-lactamase, in isolates was 41% 9.5% blaCTXM commonest genotype (93%). Phylogenetic group distribution as follow: B1 2.8%, A 14.2%, B2 61.9% D 4.6%. result showed most belonged also several such hlyA, cnf-1 papGII positively associated B2. Among patients UTIs, features phylogroups, special factors, could cause severe infection. Awareness about patterns UPEC greatly aid confine prevent development lethal caused by these strains.

Virulence potential of Escherichia coli strains causing asymptomatic bacteriuria during pregnancy.
We compared the virulence properties of a collection of asymptomatic bacteriuria (ABU) Escherichia coli strains to urinary tract infection (UTI) strains isolated from pregnant women in a university hospital over 1 year. The in vitro and in vivo studies suggest that ABU strains presented a virulence behavior similar to that of strains isolated from cases of cystitis.

متن کاملAnalysis of Escherichia coli strains causing bacteriuria during pregnancy: selection for strains that do not express type 1 fimbriae.
Escherichia coli isolates from patients with bacteriuria of pregnancy were compared by PCR with isolates from patients with community-acquired cystitis for the presence of established virulence determinants. The strains from patients with bacteriuria of pregnancy were less likely to carry genes for P-family, S-family, and F1C adhesins, cytotoxic necrotizing factor 1, and aerobactin, but virtual...
متن کاملAsymptomatic bacteriuria and symptomatic urinary tract infections during pregnancy.
Urinary tract infections are common complications of pregnancy; upper tract infections in particular may lead to significant morbidity for both the mother and fetus. Bacteriuria is a significant risk factor for developing pyelonephritis in pregnant women. Therefore, proper screening and treatment of bacteriuria during pregnancy is necessary to prevent complications. All women should be screened...
متن کاملResistance patterns of Escherichia coli causing urinary tract infection
Background: Urinary tract infection (UTI) is one of the most prevalent infectious diseases and Escherichia coli is its common cause. The aim of this study was to assess the resistance patterns of E.coli in urinary tract infections and to determine the susceptibility of E.coli to commonly used antimicrobials and also to evaluate the options for empirical treatment of UTI. Methods: This stud...
